David Johnston

David Lloyd Johnston is a Canadian diplomat, lawyer, politician, and writer born in Greater Sudbury in 1941. He served as the Governor General of Canada and has worked for the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, and the University of Waterloo. His professional interests span politics, law, security, and commercial companies. He is a member of the Royal Society of Canada and was affiliated with McGill University.

Johnston is educated at Harvard University, Trinity Hall, and the University of Cambridge. He speaks English and has five children. His literary contributions include 185 works, with notable titles such as *Random Number Generators*, *Eruption!*, *Panzer Aces I*, *Panzer Aces II*, and *Machiavelli on Liberty and Conflict*.
