They honestly believe that we are nothing without our people and the people around us. Øyvind Mikaelsen serves as Chief Executive Officer since May 2018. He has 30 years of experience in the global subsea business holding various senior executive roles. His most recent position was Executive Vice President at Subsea 7. Øyvind began his career in the oil and gas industry with Kvaerner Rosenberg A/S in 1988. He then moved to Norske Shell before joining Subsea 7 in 1992. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Trondheim in Norway Since joining DeepOcean in 2007, Ottar Mæland has held various senior positions such as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Commercial Officer. His prior experience includes seven years at Norsk Hydro. Mr Mæland holds a Master of Science in Material Technology, a Business Economist Degree from the Norwegian School of Management and graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. Mr. Jungwirth joined DeepOcean in 2018, bringing extensive international experience from various strategic and financial roles in the offshore energy sector across North America and Europe. His previous positions include companies such as NOV, Aker Solutions, and Fjords Processing. Before assuming his current role, he was leading DeepOcean’s M&A and Corporate Development agenda. Mr. Jungwirth holds a Master of Science in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Science from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. Hege Jarstø joined Deepocean in 2021 as Group HR Director. Hege has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, and she understands the complexities of the human side of the business. Companies like AkerBP Asa, Det Norske Oljeselskap, Marathon Oil, Acergy, and Norsk Olje & Gass have provided her experience. She has substantial HR management expertise from a variety of positions. Her most recent post was at AkerBP ASA, where she supported and developed the organization towards digital transformation. Hege graduated from the University of Stavanger with a Master of Business Administration. Erik Bergh joined the company in 2019 as Group HSEQS Director. Erik has over 18 years work experience in the oil & gas industry with various leadership roles at country, regional and global levels. Prior to joining DeepOcean, Erik held management positions in HSEQ and Sales and Marketing at Subsea 7 and Acergy. Mr. Bergh holds a Master of Science degree in Quality Management from Nottingham Trent University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Olaf College, and a Culinary Arts Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu.
