Warmtedistributie is een verwarmingssysteem, waarbij gebouwen worden verwarmd via een ondergronds netwerk van warmwaterleidingen. Warmtedistributie voor (een groot deel van) een stad wordt stadsverwarming genoemd. Ook de term stadswarmte is gangbaar. De vraag naar warmte vertegenwoordigt een aandeel van ongeveer 50% van het totale energieverbruik in Europa.
