dublincore.org →In addition to the webpage for DCMI Metadata Terms , DCMI has since 2000 published machine-processable representations of the metadata terms in RDF for use in Semantic Web and Linked Data applications. Indeed, the first W3C Recommendation for RDF in 1999 included a section about Dublin Core citing the experimental, but long deprecated, namespace URI RDF representations of the metadata terms have been published by DCMI since 2000, first in RDF/XML, later also in Turtle, and for awhile also in RDFa. These are listed below in reverse chronological order. The 2012-06-14 release of the webpage for DCMI Metadata Terms included an embedded RDF representation of the term definitions using RDFa 1.1 . The DCMI server was configured to serve RDF/XML, Turtle, or RDFa/HTML representations in response to browser or application requests ("content negotiation").

The Dublin Core vocabulary, also known as the Dublin Core Metadata Terms (DCMT), is a general purpose metadata vocabulary for describing resources of any type. It was first developed for describing web content in the early days of the World Wide Web. The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) is responsible for maintaining the Dublin Core vocabulary.
