2dva.cz →Since 2006, they’ve been mixing folk, pop, electronic and techno into an unclassifiable folklore of non-existent nations. Their nonexist pop with live samples has made fans dance from Australia to Ukraine to the USA. Audiences understand them perfectly, even when they sing in ciphers of their own language, which they then translate into Czech and English. Internationally, Dva became known through soundtracks for Amanita Design games, where they’ve collaborated for 15 years with animator Jára Plachý ( Botanicula , Chuchel , Happy Game ). Their debut album Fonók (2008 / Indies Scope) brought first enthusiastic reactions and early award nominations. The follow-up HU (2010 / Label Home Table) won the Anděl Czech Award for alternative music and took them on a tour across Europe. The soundtrack for Botanicula (2012 / Minority Rec) won the “game Oscar” – the Excellence in Audio Award at IGF in San Francisco. Album Nipomo (2014 / Northern Spy), released in the USA, became Album of the Year at the Vinyla Awards , and the band toured with it across the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Poland, and Romania. In 2024, after a concert break, the band returned to the stage with their latest album Piri Piri (2024 / Bumbum Satori), and every show is a spontaneous dance party where you forget the terrifying feeling that the world might be ending.
