エレベーター（英: Elevator）は、人や荷物を載せて垂直または斜め・水平に移動させる装置である。日本語では昇降機（しょうこうき）ともいう。工学の分野などでは最後の長音を省略するルールによってエレベータとも表記する。ビルディングなど複数の階（フロア）を有する建築物に設置されるほか、歩行が不自由な人がいる一戸建て住宅にも小型のホームエレベーターを取り付けることがある。日本では、人が乗れない小荷物専用のものはリフトかエレベーターと呼ぶことが多い。建築基準法では小荷物専用昇降機と記されている。
