Elgar Howarth (born Nov 1935) is a British composer and conductor. He is known, as a composer, for works for brass instruments (being a trumpet player himself). Many of his works have been recorded by the famous Grimethorpe Colliery (brass) Band. His conducting work spreads over a much wider field and includes opera.
