Actor/theatre director/Play School presenter Eric Thompson (1929-1982) is best remembered as the inspired writer and voice behind the BBC's English language translation of 'The Magic Roundabout' series. His moving rendition of the unexpectedly bleak 'Florence's Sad Song' in 'Dougal and the Blue Cat' (1972) may be his most notable musical achievement.
