Ernst Fischer (10 April 1900 – 10 July 1975) was a German keyboardist and composer of light music both for piano and for orchestra. He became well-known to radio listeners all over the world from the 1930s to 1960s. Although he wrote numerous piano pieces, "Sparkling Champagne" by Claudio Abbado & Berlin Philharmonic in Classic Arts Showcase. perhaps his most famous work is the orchestral suite, Südlich der Alpen (South of the Alps).
