architectuur.org →De Euromast bestaat uit een 107 meter hoge betonnen schacht met een diameter van 9 meter. Bovenin is er een restaurant, 2 hotelkamers en een uitzichtplatform. Het stalen kraaiennest voor deze functies op 85 meter hoogte werd op de grond opgebouwd en in 131 uur langs de schacht omhoog getakeld. De scheepsbrug op 32 meter hoogte is buiten gebruik. De toren werd ter gelegenheid van Floriade gebouwd, naast Het Park waar wereldtuinbouwtentoonstelling plaats vond. Door de steeds hogere bebouwing in het centrum van Rotterdam werd de toren minder interessant voor bezoekers. Om de Euromast aantrekkelijk te houden werd in 1970 de stalen Space Tower toegevoegd die bezoekers in een om de mast draaiende cabine tot 185 meter hoogte brengt.

Originally in height it was the tallest building in Rotterdam. It lost this position to the high-rise of Erasmus MC () which was completed in 1968, but regained it when the Space Tower was added to the top of the building in 1970, giving an additional . Euromast was the highest building of the Netherlands, but was surpassed by De Zalmhaven, also in Rotterdam, in 2021. It is also a member of the World Federation of Great Towers.
