Focus es una banda holandesa de rock progresivo liderada por el tecladista y flautista Thijs van Leer y el guitarrista Jan Akkerman. Se formó en Ámsterdam en 1969 con cuatro músicos de formación clásica: Akkerman, van Leer, el bajista Martin Dresden y el baterista Hans Cleuver, pero ha tenido varias formaciones a lo largo de su existencia. Su período de mayor popularidad abarcó los álbumes Focus II (o Moving Waves) (1971), Focus III (1972) y Hamburger Concerto (1974), y sus canciones más populares fueron "Hocus Pocus" y "Sylvia".
