François Duval (Born: 1672 Died: January 27, 1728). As a violinist and composer it is not remarkable that the works of Duval were written for the violin. It is important to note, however, that his were the first violin sonatas published in France. Between 1704 and Leclair's publications in 1723 approximately 24 volumes of violin sonatas were printed and distributed. The sonata, before this time, had not caught on in France as it was considered an Italian structure. <a href="https://www.last.fm/m
