数学において写像あるいは函数の合成（ごうせい、英: composition）とは、ある写像を施した結果に再び別の写像を施すことである。 たとえば、時刻 t における飛行機の高度を h(t) とし、高度 x における酸素濃度を c(x) で表せば、この二つの函数の合成函数 (c ∘ h)(t) = c(h(t)) が時刻 t における飛行機周辺の酸素濃度を記述するものとなる。
