Galba ( ; born Servius Sulpicius Galba; 24 December 3 BC – 15 January AD 69) was Roman emperor, ruling for 7 months from 8 June AD 68 to 15 January 69. He was the first emperor in the Year of the Four Emperors and assumed the throne following Emperor Nero's suicide.
Galba was a Roman emperor who ruled for just seven months in AD 68-69, becoming the first of four emperors to take power that tumultuous year after the previous emperor Nero killed himself. His brief reign marked a significant turning point in Roman history, as it showed the empire's throne could change hands through military and political upheaval rather than through stable succession.
