Germanisation, or Germanization, is the spread of the German language, people, and culture. It was a central idea of German conservative thought in the 19th and the 20th centuries, when conservatism and ethnic nationalism went hand in hand. In linguistics, Germanisation of non-German languages also occurs when they adopt many German words.

Germanização é o nome que se dá à crescente influência da língua alemã, do povo alemão ou da cultura através da força ou assimilação, ou da adaptação de uma palavra estrangeira à língua alemã, assim como a romanização de várias línguas que não são escritas com o alfabeto latino. Foi o apoio central do pensamento liberal alemão no início do século XIX, num período em que o liberalismo e o nacionalismo andavam de mãos dadas.
