Sign in to saveGerres is a genus of mojarras found mostly in coastal regions from the eastern Atlantic Ocean through the Indian Ocean to the western Pacific. A single species, G. simillimus, is from the East Pacific. They mainly inhabit salt and brackish waters, but will enter fresh water.

Герресы, или мохарры (лат. Gerres) — род лучепёрых рыб семейства мохарровых (Gerreidae). Максимальная длина тела представителей разных видов варьирует от 6,5 до 44,5 см. Распространены в восточной части Атлантического океана и Индо-Тихоокеанской области. Один вид, G. simillimus, из восточной Пацифики.
