Goessel is a city in Marion County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 556. The city was named after Captain Kurt von Goessel [de] (1852–1895) who went down with his ship, the Elbe, in the English Channel after it was rammed. It is located about 11 miles north of North Newton on the west side of K-15 highway.
