Gull-billed Tern

The Gull-billed Tern (*Gelochelidon nilotica*) is a species of bird in the family Laridae, order Charadriiformes, and class Aves. Its scientific name was established by Gmelin in 1789. The species has a wingspan of 94 and inhabits marine environments. It is classified under the phylum Chordata and the genus *Gelochelidon*.

The taxon range includes Brazil, the Nanling Mountains, South America, and Africa. The species is also endemic to the Little Rann of Kutch, Thol Lake, Purbasthali, and Bakkhali. Its IUCN conservation status is Least Concern, a designation recorded in 2019. The species is accepted in the World Register of Marine Species.
