Gyula Kiss (Budapest, June 11, 1944) is a Hungarian pianist and music teacher. Since 2010, an international piano competition in Tokyo bears his name. At the age of six, Gyula Kiss began studying the piano with György Kövesdi. From 1958 to 1962, he was a student at the Béla Bartók Conservatory, and worked with Miklósné Máthé. From 1962 until 1967, he was a student at the music academy in Budapest, a disciple of Pál Kadosa. He then took part in master classes with Carlo Zecchi and Nikita Magaloff
