Hedwig Bilgram was born in Memmingen (Germany). At an early age she had piano lessons with Thilde Kraushaar, one of Schmid-Lindner’s master students. Later on she continued her education at the University of Music in Munich and studied piano under Friedrich Wührer as well as organ with Karl Richter. In 1956 she was awarded 1st prize at the Competition of German Universities and only three years later the 1st prize for organ at the International ARD Music Competition of the Federal Republic of Ge
