Helen Myrl Carter (September 19, 1927 – June 2, 1998) was an American country music singer. She was a member of The Carter Family, a group that had a profound impact on bluegrass, country, southern gospel, pop and rock musicians as well as on the U.S. folk revival of the 1960s. Helen Carter had a professional career in music that spanned 60 years. Helen Carter's mother was Mother Maybelle Carter.
