Hnoss

Hnoss is de bevallige dochter van Freya en Ódr. Volgens de Gylfaginning en het Skaldskaparmál is zij zo mooi dat al wat mooi en kostbaar is met haar naam hnoss genoemd wordt. De naam Hnoss is Oudnoords en betekent kostbaarheid. De uitspraak is ongeveer [hnosː]?, dus met een hoorbare h- of ch-klank en een lange s.
