Hürth ist eine mittlere kreisangehörige Stadt im Rhein-Erft-Kreis, Regierungsbezirk Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen. Der Ort verdankt seine Entstehung der wirtschaftlichen und industriellen Entwicklung der Region durch die Erschließung der Braunkohlevorkommen im Rheinischen Braunkohlerevier zum Ende des 19. und Beginn des 20.
