Die namensgebende Gattung Hylocomium der Moosfamilie Hylocomiaceae besteht nach der Systematik von Stech & Frey aus weltweit zwei Arten. In Deutschland sind alle Arten der Gattung Hylocomium durch die Bundesartenschutzverordnung (Fassung 16. Februar 2005, Liste) geschützt.
