Hiperantes
Sign in to saveHyperanthes () was a son of Darius the Great of Persia by Phratagune, and brother to Xerxes I. He was present in the second invasion of Greece in 480 BC. According to Herodotus, he fought and died alongside his other brother Abrocomes in the battle of Thermopylae in the final phase known as the "Battle of Champions" (translation of Tom Holland), where the Spartans in their last stand fought feverishly against him and the Persian force over the retrieval of Leonidas' dead body.

Hiperantes (en griego, Ὑπεράνθης) fue un hijo de Darío el Grande de Persia y hermano de Jerjes I. Estuvo presente en la segunda invasión de Grecia en el 480 a. C.. De acuerdo con Heródoto, luchó y murió junto su otro hermano, Abrocomes en la batalla de las Termópilas en la fase final conocida como la "Batalla de los Campeones", donde los espartanos, en un último intento de ofrecer resistencia, lucharon fervientemente contra él y la fuerza persa para recuperar el cuerpo de Leónidas.
