Insulair schrift is een middeleeuwse schriftsoort die oorspronkelijk in Ierland werd ontwikkeld, en zich daarna in Engeland en op het Europese continent verspreidde. Het werd gebruikt van het midden van de 5e eeuw tot in de 12e eeuw.
