Uomo di Giava è il nome dato ai fossili scoperti nel 1891 a , sulle rive del fiume , nella provincia di Giava Orientale, nell'isola di Giava in Indonesia. I fossili rappresentano uno dei primi esempi di quello che oggi viene chiamato Homo erectus. I resti furono scoperti da Eugène Dubois, che li classificò con il nome scientifico di Pithecanthropus erectus (dal greco antico πίθηκος "scimmia" e ἄνθρωπος "uomo").
