خوسپ بوری

Josep Borrell i Fontelles is a Spanish politician, economist, trade unionist, and engineer born on April 24, 1947, in La Pobla de Segur. He holds citizenship in Spain and Argentina. Borrell has served as President of the European Parliament, Member of the European Parliament, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and vice-president of the European Commission. He is a member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party and has worked in the fields of European integration and politics.

He studied at the Technical University of Madrid, Complutense University of Madrid, Stanford University, and the French Institute of Petroleum, earning a doctorate. His professional experience includes positions at Complutense University of Madrid and Moeve. Borrell speaks Spanish, Catalan, English, and French. He is married to Cristina Narbona.

Borrell has been a candidate in the 1986 Spanish general election and the 2004, 2009, and 2019 European Parliament elections in Spain. He has received the Grand Order of Queen Jelena and the Order of Honour.
