Judea Pearl

Judea Pearl was born on 4 September 1936 in Tel Aviv and holds citizenship of the United States. He worked as a computer scientist, engineer, philosopher and university teacher, with a field of work spanning computer science and philosophy of science, and his notable work is the Bayesian network. He was educated at Rutgers University, the New York University Tandon School of Engineering, the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and the University of California, Los Angeles, which later employed him, and he holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Royal Academy of Engineering of Spain. He received the Turing Award, the Benjamin Franklin Medal, the Harvey Prize and the Rumelhart Prize. His child is Daniel Pearl, and he speaks English, Modern Hebrew and Hebrew.
