In attività dal 2005 al 2020, nel singolare vanta come best ranking la nona posizione a livello mondiale, raggiunta poche settimane dopo avere disputato la sua prima e unica semifinale Slam in questa specialità al torneo di Wimbledon 2018, sconfitta da Serena Williams. Nel corso della sua carriera si è aggiudicata conquistato sette titoli WTA in singolare e cinque in doppio. Sempre in doppio, oltre a essersi spinta fino alla dodicesima posizione mondiale, ha disputato altre tre semifinali a livello Slam (consecutivamente le edizioni 2015 e 2016 dell'Australian Open e a Wimbledon sempre nel 2016), mentre nel doppio misto è stata finalista a Parigi 2014.
