Kevin Dean is an American trumpeter and organist. He was born in Mason City, Iowa in 1954. After receiving a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa he received a Master's Degree in Jazz Pedagogy from the University of Miami, Florida. He then joined the faculty of St. Francis-Xavier University in Nova Scotia where he helped develop Canada's first university accredited Jazz studies program. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Music at the Schulich School of Music, at McGill Un
