クリプトバータル

This animal was a member of the extinct order of Multituberculata within the suborder Cimolodonta, and was a member of the family Djadochtatheriidae. It lived contemporaneously with some of the dinosaurs. Its skull had a length of perhaps 3 cm.

クリプトバータル（Kryptobaatar、クリプトバアタル）は白亜紀後期に中央アジアに生息していた絶滅哺乳類。属名 Kryptobaatar の Krypto はギリシャ語の κρυπτός (kruptós)で「隠れた」の意で眼窩下孔の腹側の位置を示しており、baatar はモンゴル語の баатар (baatar)で「英雄」（バガトル）を意味し、モンゴルの首都ウランバートルを暗示している。種小名の dashzevegi はモンゴル人の古生物学者 (Demberelyin Dashzeveg)への献名である。シノニムにGobibaatar、Tugrigbaatarがある。 絶滅目である多丘歯目のキモロドン亜目ジャドクタテリウム科に属し、恐竜と同時期に生きていた。頭長はおよそ3 cm。跳ねて移動する (saltatorial)生態であった。
