W rolę artystki wcieliła się nagrodzona za swoją rolę Oscarem i Złotym Globem Marion Cotillard, natomiast reżyserował Olivier Dahan, który jest także współautorem scenariusza. Premiera filmu odbyła się 8 lutego 2007 na 57. Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Filmowym w Berlinie. Polska premiera odbyła się 11 maja 2007. Dystrybucją filmu w Polsce zajął się Best Film.
