== Taxonomy == The genus Lachnopus was named for the first time by Carl Johan Schönherr in 1840 (p. 380). The names Menoetius Dejean, 1821-94 and Ptilopus Schönherr, 1823: c. 1140 are considered junior synonyms of Lachnopus.
