Leinach (unterfränkisch Leini genannt) ist eine Gemeinde im unterfränkischen Landkreis Würzburg. Sie entstand im Zuge der bayerischen Gebietsreform am 1. Mai 1978 durch den Zusammenschluss der Gemeinden Oberleinach und Unterleinach. Der Ortsname Leinach ist seit dem Jahr 775 im Codex Eberhardi als Linaha urkundlich belegt. Die Leinacher nennen sich selbst „Leiner“.
