North American genera include: Aplodontochirus Chirodiscoides Dentocarpus Geomylichus Leporacarus Listrophorus Lutracarus Lynxacarus Olabidocarpus Olistrophorus Prolistrophorus Quasilistrophorus Asiochirus is one Asian genus. Unidentified listrophorids have been found on the marsh rice rat (Oryzomys palustris) in Florida and Georgia.
