Lyss [ˈliːs] (Berndeutsch: [ˈliːsː]) ist eine politische Gemeinde (Einwohnergemeinde) im Verwaltungskreis Seeland im Schweizer Kanton Bern. Lyss hat über 16'000 Einwohner. Da die Einwohnerzahl über 10'000 liegt, kann Lyss auch als Stadt gelten. Für die Förderung erneuerbarer Energien hat Lyss das Label ‚Energiestadt‘ erhalten. Das sich rasch entwickelnde Regionalzentrum hat bis heute viel vom seeländisch-dörflichen Charakter bewahrt.
