Machine Head is an American metal band from Oakland, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Adam Duce. The band's aggressive musicianship made it one of the pioneering bands in the new wave of American heavy metal, and it is also considered to be part of the second wave of thrash metal bands from the 1990s. Machine Head è il sesto album in studio dei Deep Purple, pubblicato il 25 marzo 1972. Insieme all'album Deep Purple in Rock, ad oggi viene considerato uno degli album più influenti della storia della musica hard rock. In occasione del 40º anniversario, nel 2012 è stato prodotto un album tributo intitolato Re-Machined: A Tribute to Deep Purple's Machine Head, realizzato da artisti vari. Sempre nello stesso anno l'album venne rimasterizzato e poi ripubblicato nel 2015.
