Mad Season was an American rock supergroup formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1994, featuring guitarist Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, vocalist Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, drummer Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees, and bassist John Baker Saunders. The band combined members of the Seattle grunge scene and released a single studio album, "Above", in March 1995. The album included the single "River of Deceit", which achieved radio success, and was certified gold by the RIAA in June 1995. <a href="
