== Geography == Maglene is situated in the southeastern part of the Rhodope mountain range, about 28 kilometers southeast of the municipal center, Ivaylovgrad. It lies close to the border with Kardzhali Province and not far from the border with Greece. The region is characterized by hilly terrain, oak and pine forests, and a Mediterranean influenced climate.
