玛俐亚 Maria Cordero 玛俐亚出身於贫苦家庭，因父亲早逝，母亲要求她辍学，为肩负起照顾弟妹的责任十一岁的她已开始踏出社会工作，她身兼数职曾当过电影院带位员、售货员、办公室文员、酒保、信差、工厂女工，甚至送面粉苦力。喜欢唱歌的她经朋友介绍下，开始展开其银色事业的旅途。 　　玛俐亚於1985年在「广东的士高」(Canton Disco)开始其歌唱事业，尤其擅长爵士音乐(Jazz)和布鲁士音乐(Blues)。在短短两年间，藉她那独一无二的雄浑歌声，和令人著迷的舞台风范，吸引了不少歌迷及社会知名人士的支持。同年有幸被香港名导演林岭东赏识，邀请演出处女作电影《龙虎风云》(City On Fire)，同时被银星唱片有限公司罗致，名音乐人泰迪罗宾作曲、填词，首张个人大碟《龙虎风云》，推出十日即达金唱片销量，二十日後更获得白金数字，大碟主题曲“友谊之光”，更是街知巷闻，成为佳话，唱片成功奠定了玛俐亚在乐坛上不能取代的地位，亦是她成为歌星、影星的起步点。1988年出道仅仅三年的玛俐亚已在香港红磡体育馆举行演唱会，除了在香港红磡体育馆外，伊利沙伯体育馆和九龙塘大专会堂亦能找到玛俐亚的足
