Marleen Temmerman

Marleen Temmerman is a Belgian physician, obstetrician, university teacher, and politician. Born in Lokeren in 1953, she is a member of the Vooruit political party and works in the field of politics. She has been employed by Ghent University and the World Health Organization. Her educational background includes studies at Ghent University, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Université libre de Bruxelles, and the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp.

Temmerman is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and is a member of both that academy and the Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences. She is also an author with six works, including *Mama daktari - Gynaecologe in Afrika*, *Vrouwen onder druk*, *Milady*, and *Reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health*. Her contributions are acknowledged in the American Academy Arts Sciences collection.
