Born in Budapest in 1957, Márta Sebestyén has been an active member of the Hungarian folk music scene from a young age. Considered by some to be the best voice in Europe, she rose to stardom when her hauntingly beautiful Szerelem, Szerelem (Love, Love) was included in the score for the movie The English Patient. She is also well-known amongst the Hungarian folk music scene as the permanent guest/lead vocalist for the group Muzsikás. She has also recorded solo albums, including the worldly Kismet
