Mati Kuulberg (b. July 9 1947; Tallinn, USSR - d. June 14, 2001, Tallinn, Estonia) was an Estonian composer who enlivened tradition forms of music with a mood of expression that is dense and rich in contrasts. In his works, linear melody lines, free treatment of tonality and capricious rhythms constitute complex polyphonic textures.
