==History== Mawab was originally called '''Ma-awag' (wide valley) by the early tribal inhabitants. The municipality is traversed by four rivers: Hijo, Mawab, Galinan, and Gumawan. Its population includes several tribal groups, notably the Mansakas, Mandayas, and Dibabawons.
