E-rickshaws are a very popular and convenient way to travel around Meerut. Many standard places and markets have fixed rates and you can go around on a sharing basis. You can also book the e-rickshaw to get around if you have more luggage.

Abu Lane, Begum Bridge Road and Central Market Shastri Nagar are good places to shop though modern shopping malls have also come up.

You can buy different types of sports items in Meerut. Bats of Meerut are very popular. Companies like BDM, SS and SG are world famous. Soti Ganj reputed as a place where you can get everything ranging from tyres to engines of almost every car. If you want to buy book, many bookstores are there in the Abulane area.

You can eat 23 different types of patties from egg to banana from the shop near Victoria Park (Bhamasah Park).

Gazak and Rewarees are very famous and can be bought from the bazaar near Jimkhana Maidan.

Naan khatai is another famous thing in Meerut.

Good Soya Chaap is available at shops on Nayi sadak near Tejgarhi chauraha.

Samosas are available throughout the city. Gol Market has good pastries, Samosa, Dosa, Pav Bhaji, Chowmein.
