Melissant is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located on the island Goeree-Overflakkee, in the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee.

== History == The village was first mentioned in 1484 as melissant, and means "sand (shoal) of Melis (person)". Melissant developed after the Oud-Melissant polder was enclosed by a dike in 1480.
