Mianeh (Persian: ميانه) is a city in the Central District of Mianeh County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. It is the fourth most populous city of the province. The people of Mianeh are Azerbaijanis who live close to the borders shared with Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey. This region is known for its Azerbaijani culture, language, and traditions that are distinct from central areas of Iran.
