Beautifully orchestrated, tracks one through nine were composed by Trevor Jones, and his use of drums, brass, and strings to convey the sweeping saga of the movie is masterful and full of powerful, pulse pounding emotion. Michael Thomas Mann (Múnich, 21 de abril de 1919 - Orinda, Contra Costa County, California, 1 de enero de 1977) fue un músico y profesor de literatura alemán. El más joven de los seis hijos de Thomas Mann y Katia Mann. Estudió viola y violín en Zürich, París y Nueva York. Entre 1942-47 fue solista en la Orquesta Sinfónica de San Francisco y luego como solista en Europa. Debió dejar la carrera debido a una neuropatía. Mann estudió literatura germánica en Harvard, trabajando como profesor en la University of California, Berkeley. Se casó con Gert Moser (1916-2007), su único hijo es el psicólogo y ensayista Frido Mann (Monterrey, California, 1940-). Se suicidó en 1977.
