Monzón es un municipio y ciudad española de la provincia de Huesca, en la comunidad autónoma de Aragón. Es la cabecera y capital de la comarca del Cinca Medio, además de cosede de la diócesis de Barbastro-Monzón. Dentro del término municipal se encuentran también las localidades de Selgua y Conchel. Cuenta con 17 362 habitantes (INE 2021), repartidos en una superficie de 155,01 km² siendo así la segunda ciudad en población de la provincia oscense y la sexta de Aragón. Celebra sus fiestas mayores en la semana del 21 de septiembre, día de San Mateo; y sus fiestas menores el 4 de diciembre en honor a Santa Bárbara. Monzón es una de las poblaciones más importantes agrícolas e industriales de la región gracias al Canal de Aragón y Cataluña. Desde el Neolítico hasta nuestros días hay ocupación en esta zona, que fuera de economía principalmente agrícola y que desde mitad del siglo XIX con la construcción del ferrocarril ha sufrido un importante auge del sector industrial, que actualmente ocupa a la mayoría de la población.
